Her father, Derek, expressed his worries, highlighting that it was uncharacteristic for Charlotte to travel without informing her family.

Authorities in Rio de Janeiro indicated that Charlotte was alive and well, tracing her movements through her mobile phone’s GPS. She is believed to have arrived in Rio on February 8 and stayed at a hostel in Copacabana until February 17, moving afterward to another hostel in Botafogo. CCTV footage captured Charlotte at the hostel, where she was seen returning bed linens before her departure.

Police Chief Elen Souto stated that the primary theory revolves around voluntary disappearance. The investigation revealed two active phone numbers, one of which remains unreachable.
