Police are actively searching for an armed gang following a cash-in-transit heist in KwaZulu-Natal that injured two security officers. The assailants utilized explosives to access the cash and escaped with an undisclosed sum, prompting a significant police investigation that led to the temporary closure of the roadway.

In a separate incident, Limpopo Deputy Police Commissioner Jan Scheepers has announced that Limpopo is among the safest regions in South Africa, citing a substantial reduction in 17 major crime categories during the second and third quarters of the 2024/2025 financial year. Despite the challenging crime issues, Limpopo has recorded a significant 28% decline in murder cases.
