Morocco Faces Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall: A Weather Office Alert

Additionally, other regions such as Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Sefrou, Taza, Beni Mellal, Azilal, M’diq-Fnideq, and Fahs-Anjra are predicted to experience rainfall ranging from 25 to 30 millimeters, with precipitation expected from six o’clock Monday morning to eleven o’clock that night.

Snowfall is anticipated in the provinces of Boulemane, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, and Midelt during the same timeframe, beginning at midnight Monday and lasting until Tuesday morning. Furthermore, temperatures in various regions, including Azilal and Ifrane, are forecasted to drop to between -3 and 3 degrees Celsius.

This weekend, several cities across Morocco, including Rabat, experienced rainy conditions. Such weather is favorable for the agricultural sector, which has struggled with drought and water scarcity in recent years. In response, Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari has launched a new season initiative supporting local farmers amid these hardships.

The Ministry of Agriculture aims to cover 5 million hectares with approximately 1.26 million quintals of certified seeds, primarily targeting autumn cereals. These seeds will be priced 3-5% lower than the previous year, encouraging farmers to adopt these new varieties.
