The incident occurred on September 3, when the suspect wielded a knife in the alleged attack.

Following the stabbing, Inspector Musa was rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Bida where he succumbed to his injuries. This act contravenes Section 221 of the Penal Code Law, which prescribes the death penalty for such offenses.

During court proceedings, police prosecutor Inspector Ogiri Emmanuel stated that the case details are documented in the file, and a copy would be forwarded to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal counsel. The suspect admitted his guilt and expressed remorse when the charges were read.

Presiding Magistrate Hajiya Hadiza Hamza Imam remarked on the severity of the offense and acknowledged the court’s lack of jurisdiction over culpable homicide cases. She deferred the matter to the fifteenth of next month for further proceedings, while also confirming the suspect’s remand.
