Tata.ev has launched the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV in Mauritius through Allied Motors, marking its first international expansion beyond SAARC. The vehicles offer diverse battery options and significant warranties, emphasizing Tata’s commitment to sustainable mobility in the region.

Tata.ev has officially launched its electric vehicle lineup in Mauritius, including the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, through a collaboration with Allied Motors. This expansion marks Mauritius as the inaugural country outside the SAARC region for Tata’s electric portfolio, following its prior introduction in Sri Lanka.

The Tata Punch EV is available in three distinct variants: Smart, Adventure, and Empowered, each with several sub-variants. It offers two battery options, 25 kWh and 35 kWh, which provide claimed driving ranges of 265 km and 365 km, respectively. Notably, the Punch EV has earned a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests.

In the latest offerings, the Tata Nexon EV comes with a newly introduced 45 kWh battery, phasing out the previous 40 kWh version. It can charge to 80 percent in less than an hour and boasts a driving range of 350 to 375 km. Meanwhile, the Tiago EV has been updated and features a compact design with a 24 kWh battery offering a range of 190 to 210 km.

Additionally, these vehicles come with substantial warranties: 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery and motor, and 7 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle itself. Customers will also receive a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box.

Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., expressed excitement regarding this new venture, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce our electric vehicle portfolio in Mauritius, marking our first international expansion beyond the SAARC region. With the government’s strong commitment to sustainable mobility, Mauritius holds strategic importance in our EV journey.” He continued, “As a pioneer of the EV revolution in India and a proven success in SAARC markets, Tata.ev is well-positioned to support the country’s transition to electric mobility. Our diverse range of EVs, spanning multiple body styles and battery options, sets the stage for a transformative shift in Mauritius’ automotive landscape.”

The launch of Tata’s electric vehicle lineup in Mauritius signifies a strategic international expansion, invaluable to the company’s growth in the EV sector. The Punch EV, Nexon EV, and Tiago EV introduce diverse options for consumers, bolstered by impressive warranties and safety ratings. With robust government backing for sustainable mobility, Tata is poised to play a crucial role in the automotive evolution of Mauritius.
