Bureau meteorologist Jessica Lingard stated, “It will move up pretty quickly through the severity to a category three by Thursday before making a bit of a U-turn and turning back towards the coastline.” She cautioned that the cyclone might weaken as it approaches the coast, suggesting minimal impact on coastal communities: “I think we will find that it gets shredded apart before we see too many impacts along the coastline.”
