The men, 43-year-old Musa Audu and 45-year-old Abdullahi Garba, were caught trying to rob a residence in the Brighter Area on April 30, 2025. They had entered through a window, reportedly making off with a plasma television, remote control, and an aluminum pot before vigilant neighbors intervened.

According to the Niger State Police Command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, the incident took place when police were absent from the area. Abiodun provided details, stating, “Around 11:45 AM, police operatives from Chanchaga Division arrested the two men. Their stolen items were packed into sacks when community members alerted the police.” The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will soon face court prosecution.

In a related incident, police also detained Danrani Usman, a 32-year-old from Gengi village, for the alleged theft of 50 sheep. Usman has reportedly named an accomplice, Isah, who remains at large, as the one who aided in stealing these animals from Yangalu village in Magama Local Government Area.
