Connected Minerals Hits Uranium Milestones in Namibia
- Connected Minerals has achieved milestones in Namibia’s uranium exploration.
- The Etango North-East project has shown promising drilling results.
- Fourteen of the fifteen holes revealed economic uranium grades.
- The standout intercepts include high ppm uranium oxide readings.
- Plans for a Phase 2 drilling campaign are underway.
Exploration Success at Etango North-East Project
A significant milestone has been recently achieved by Connected Minerals with its exploration of the Etango North-East project in Namibia. The maiden drilling program managed to successfully locate numerous instances of stacked alaskites, known scientifically as leucogranite sheets. Following 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes drilled to a depth of 2688 meters, the initial results have shown promising signs of uranium mineralization that significantly bolster the project’s geological value, particularly in comparison to the neighboring Etango uranium project developed by Bannerman Energy.
Promising Drilling Results and Economic Intercepts
Out of the 15 holes that were rigorously tested, fourteen reported economic grades of uranium. This outcome not only underscores the strong geological potential of the area but also highlights the similarities with Bannerman Energy’s successful findings. The standout intercepts are particularly noteworthy, including an impressive 5 meters at 358 parts per million (ppm) of uranium oxide (U₃O₈) from a depth of 88 meters, featuring a remarkable 1 meter reading of 814 ppm. Other notable findings consist of 4 meters at 230 ppm from 47 meters and 3 meters at 312 ppm from a depth of 68 meters.
Future Plans for Exploration at Swakopmund
The mineralization found in this area shows signs of continuing both at depth and along strike, suggesting a rich untapped resource that warrants further exploration. Plans for a Phase 2 drilling campaign are already in the works, indicating that Connected Minerals is poised to follow up on this promising start. Concurrently, the company also launched its maiden RC drilling campaign at the Swakopmund uranium project, focusing on targets identified from a previous geophysics survey. This initiative included 22 RC holes drilled for a depth of 105 meters, uncovering potential paleochannels, especially a prominent 600-meter-wide anomaly that is exciting for future exploration.
In summary, Connected Minerals has made substantial advancements in its exploration efforts in Namibia. With strong initial drilling results at the Etango North-East project indicating economic uranium grades, the company is eager to unfold further potential through an upcoming Phase 2 drilling campaign. Additionally, the Swakopmund uranium project is set for further examination as Connected Minerals evaluates the initial findings of its maiden drilling campaign. Such promising signs signal a vibrant future for the company’s endeavors in the region.
