Proforce Secures Orders for PF Hulk from Mali and Nigeria at IDEX 2025

Proforce has confirmed orders for the PF Hulk protected vehicle from Mali and Nigeria at IDEX 2025. The PF Hulk, derived from Russia’s AMN-590951 ‘Spartak’, is manufactured under license in Nigeria. Proforce also introduced the PF Viper, an upgraded version of the Otokar Cobra, designed for improved performance in African conditions.

At the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025 held in Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21, Proforce of Nigeria announced that it has secured orders for the PF Hulk protected vehicle from both Mali and Nigeria. These vehicles are licensed and produced domestically in Nigeria, showcasing local manufacturing capabilities in defense equipment.

The PF Hulk is a 4×4 protected vehicle originally derived from the Russian AMN-590951 ‘Spartak’ model, configured with five doors and capable of seating 2+8 personnel. It weighs 14.5 tonnes and features a powerful 6.65-liter YaMZ-536 six-cylinder engine, delivering 360 horsepower. The vehicle meets mine protection standards according to STANAG 4569, specifically levels 2a and 2b.

In addition to the PF Hulk, Proforce has developed an upgrade based on the Otokar Cobra vehicle, known as the PF Viper. This upgrade enhances the original vehicle by adding an extra set of doors to provide a five-door configuration and improves the engine cooling system to better accommodate operational conditions in Africa. The PF Viper has a reported weight of seven tonnes and is powered by a 3-liter V6 Hyundai S2D6EB engine generating up to 250 horsepower.

Proforce’s engagement at IDEX 2025 highlights significant advancements in Nigeria’s defense manufacturing sector, with the procurement of the PF Hulk from both Mali and Nigeria. The PF Hulk and the enhanced PF Viper reflect the ongoing development of robust military vehicles tailored to meet the demands of the African environment. As these vehicles are produced under local licenses, they represent a substantial step towards self-sustainability in military logistics.
