This warning includes anticipated significant snowfalls in mountainous regions, heavy thunderstorms, and strong wind gusts capable of causing dust storms and safety hazards.
Snowfall is projected to affect mountain ranges above 1,800 meters from 11 a.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Saturday, impacting provinces such as Ifrane, Boulemane, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Taroudant.
Moreover, sustained rainfall, some of which could be stormy, is expected from 6 a.m. on Friday until 4 p.m. on Saturday, accumulating between 30 and 50 millimeters. This volume of rainfall may result in localized flooding, particularly in wadis, and could disrupt transportation networks across areas including Safi, Essaouira, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid, Settat, Casablanca, Nouaceur, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Taroudant, Nador, Al Hoceïma, Berkane, and Oujda.
Additionally, strong wind gusts, reaching 70 to 95 kilometers per hour, are anticipated accompanied by dust storms on Friday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Areas at risk of these conditions include Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif, and Tinghir.
In light of these anticipated extreme weather conditions, the DGM strongly advises residents in the affected regions to remain cautious and undertake necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
