Marcopolo Exports First Viaggio G8 1050 Coaches to Uruguay

Marcopolo has exported its inaugural Viaggio G8 1050 coaches to Uruguay, specifically for operators Intertur and ABUS, enhancing inter-city and tourism services. The purchase was influenced by the coaches’ innovative design and operational efficiency. This move highlights Marcopolo’s established market presence since the 1970s, especially with Intertur’s exclusive Marcopolo fleet.

Marcopolo, a prominent South American coach manufacturer, has successfully exported its first three Viaggio G8 1050 coaches to Uruguay. These vehicles were procured by operators Intertur and ABUS, based in Dolores and Ciudad de Tacuarembo, respectively, and are set to serve inter-city routes as well as tourism operations.

José Luiz Moraes Goes, Marcopolo’s director of commercial operations for the foreign market, highlighted the reasons behind the purchase. He stated that the unique features of the Viaggio G8 1050—its striking design, durability, lower operational costs, and strong resale value—were crucial factors in attracting Uruguayan clients.

Furthermore, the export underscores Marcopolo’s substantial presence in the Uruguayan and broader South American markets, particularly noting that Intertur has partnered with Marcopolo since the 1970s, operating a fleet composed entirely of their vehicles.

The Viaggio G8 1050 coaches delivered to Uruguay are built on Scania K-310C chassis, measuring 13,200 mm in length. These coaches can accommodate 44 passengers in Executive Soft G8 seats, which include amenities such as leg rests and mobile phone holders equipped with USB sockets.

In summary, the delivery of the Viaggio G8 1050 coaches to Uruguay marks a significant achievement for Marcopolo, reflecting its long-standing relationship with clients like Intertur. The coaches’ advanced features and operational benefits are expected to enhance transport services in the region. This export is a testament to Marcopolo’s strong presence in South America and its commitment to quality.
