A Culinary Journey at India House: Highlights from Inlander Restaurant Week 2025

Inlander Restaurant Week 2025 featured a visit to India House on South Hill, offering a $35 menu. The dining experience included flavorful appetizers, rich curries, and unique desserts, ensuring a satisfying culinary adventure. Reservations are recommended for this acclaimed restaurant during the week, which showcases local dining offerings.

As Inlander Restaurant Week approaches, anticipation fills the air for a culinary exploration of Spokane’s offerings. As the new food writer for the Inlander, I eagerly anticipated my opportunity to delve into the local food scene. My inaugural visit was to India House, located at 4410 S. Regal St., where I sampled their special $35 per person menu with my sister.

Our meal commenced with delightful appetizers. We chose the subudana pakore, which consisted of fried fritters made from tapioca, potatoes, cumin, and fresh herbs. The singhara aloo tikki introduced us to a similar but different taste with water chestnut flour. Both dishes were artfully presented with a selection of dips, enhancing the experience.

For the second course, I ordered chicken methi mali, while my sister opted for the vegetarian methi matter mali, featuring tofu and green beans. The robust red curries, infused with fenugreek and ginger, boasted a rich creaminess and were well-balanced in spice, particularly at the medium level we selected. Accompanying our dishes were naan and rice, perfect for savoring every bit of the sauce.

To conclude our meal, I selected carrot cake halwa, which blended fresh roasted carrots with nuts and cardamom, delivering a moist, guilt-free dessert experience. My sister’s choice, the paan ice cream, provided a unique and refreshing surprise with its betel leaf flavor and additional toppings, ensuring it was a memorable indulgence.

India House offers its special Restaurant Week menu alongside their regular offerings from Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., across three locations. Patrons are encouraged to make reservations by phone or via their website at indiahouse.us.

India House delivered a delightful dining experience during Inlander Restaurant Week, showcasing traditional Indian cuisine through its carefully curated menu.
