Clarification on the Death of Former Immigration Chief David Parradang in Abuja

David Parradang, a retired immigration chief in Nigeria, was found dead in a hotel room in Abuja. The police clarified that he was not a victim of kidnapping as initially speculated. He died hours after a female guest left his room. Investigations are ongoing, and the police are seeking to apprehend the guest for questioning.

The Nigerian police have provided details regarding the death of the former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, dispelling rumors of his abduction. Mr. Parradang was found deceased in his hotel room at Joy House Hotel in Abuja on March 4, 2025, shortly after a female guest left his room. The police clarified that he checked into the hotel around noon on March 3, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay.

Following the departure of his guest around 4 p.m., Mr. Parradang remained in his room without any further communication. Concerned for his safety, a friend, who is a military officer, visited the hotel at approximately 4 a.m. the next day. Upon accessing his room, the officer discovered Mr. Parradang seated in a chair, unresponsive.

The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death, emphasizing that he was not kidnapped as previously speculated. They have also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims that could incite panic. The investigation continues, with efforts underway to locate the female guest who was last seen with him. SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, encouraged media and public restraint in disseminating information until investigations are completed.
