Gunmen Murder Man in Niger, Family Ordered to Retrieve Body

Gigi Danbaka was murdered by gunmen in Niger’s Rafi Local Government Area while gathering mangoes with his family. Armed men took him hostage and ordered his family to retrieve his corpse. The Niger State Police Command is currently investigating the tragic murder of Gigi Danbaka, who was shot by unidentified gunmen in Rafi Local Government Area. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident took place on Thursday around 2:00 p.m. while Danbaka and his family were gathering mangoes along the Gabi-Alawa Road in Ringa District.

According to Makama, armed assailants confronted the family on their return home, taking Danbaka hostage. They released his family members with a horrifying ultimatum, instructing them to return to retrieve his corpse later. In response to this alarming incident, security operatives alongside local vigilantes initiated a search and rescue operation after receiving a report at approximately 8:20 p.m.

Despite the timely response, Danbaka’s lifeless body was found at the scene by Thursday morning, around 11:00 a.m. The police have committed to a thorough investigation, assuring the public that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous act.
