Additionally, counties located in the Highland West and Lake Victoria basin—such as Siaya, Kisumu, and Homa Bay—are anticipated to receive heavy rains starting Saturday, March 15. Other affected counties include Nandi, Nakuru, Kericho, and West Pokot, all of which are experiencing similar weather patterns.

Residents in Southeastern counties—Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos—are similarly advised to prepare for heavy rains commencing Saturday afternoon and lasting over the following three days, with a subsidence anticipated by Tuesday, March 17. Coastal counties such as Mombasa and Kilifi are expected to receive minor rainfall amounts.

In conjunction with the rain forecast, the meteorological department has warned those in the Highland East counties to prepare for notably cold nights, predicting temperatures to drop to as low as 5°C for the next five days, beginning Friday, March 14. Meanwhile, counties such as Siaya and Kisumu are projected to endure high daytime temperatures, potentially reaching 35°C, alongside other regions like Garissa and Isiolo that are also expecting elevated temperatures.
