The death follows the discovery of Mr. Scott’s body, which was found bound and concealed within a sack of pineapples in Makongo Forest, 66 miles from Nairobi.

Scott, a Dunfermline resident, disappeared during a work trip in Nairobi, raising concerns that he had been kidnapped, tortured, and ultimately murdered. Musembi is reported to have driven the vehicle that transported Mr. Scott’s remains to the location where they were discovered. Authorities have since confirmed that Musembi took his life while evading capture at a friend’s residence, after sustaining a self-inflicted stab wound.

The severity of the investigation presumably led Musembi to take such drastic action, as noted by police sources: “The heat on him was too much. He died by suicide.” Alongside Musembi, two other suspects, Bernard Mbunga Mbusu and Alphonse Munya Kilewa, remain at large in connection with the case.

Previously, Musembi and two accomplices were arrested for separate charges of kidnapping and blackmail against a preacher. Investigators have connected the suspects to Mr. Scott’s violent murder, asserting that £12,000 was allegedly taken from him posthumously, alongside his bank cards and mobile phone.

Details have emerged indicating that suspects accessed Mr. Scott’s financial accounts across various locations, including Nairobi and Mombasa, following his disappearance on February 17. CCTV footage captured suspect Alex Mutua in the company of Mr. Scott on the day he went missing. Reports suggest that Scott was murdered at Mutua’s residence before his remains were discarded in Makongo Forest. Law enforcement continues to seek additional suspects involved in this tragic case.
