Disturbed’s concert at the United Center damaged six Chicago Bulls’ championship banners. The minor destruction occurred during a March 8 performance, with repairs anticipated for the next NBA season. The band is also celebrating their debut album’s 25th anniversary with a new tour and expresses interest in collaborating with Kendrick Lamar.
Recently, a Disturbed concert at the United Center resulted in damage to six NBA championship banners commemorating the Chicago Bulls’ titles from the Michael Jordan era. The incident transpired during a performance on March 8, which included Three Days Grace and Sevendust. The United Center has reported the banners incurred “minor damage” due to pyrotechnics used at the event.
A spokesperson for the United Center indicated that efforts are underway to address the damage and that while the banners will not return for the current NBA season, they expect them to be reinstated in the following season. Video clips shared by attendees on social media displayed flames near the championship banners during the concert.
As for Disturbed, the band has not issued a public statement regarding the incident. In addition to dealing with this issue, they have also announced a new series of concert dates across the UK and Europe to commemorate their debut album’s 25th anniversary. This tour will feature support from the renowned metal band Megadeth, along with Disturbed performing two full concert sets.
Moreover, Disturbed’s frontman, David Draiman, has expressed interest in collaborating with acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar. Draiman indicated that their recent band’s composition requires a “strong rapper,” suggesting Lamar would be an ideal fit. Additionally, Draiman is scheduled to participate in Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in Birmingham this summer.
The pyrotechnics at a Disturbed concert inadvertently caused minor damage to the Chicago Bulls’ championship banners, prompting the United Center to initiate repairs. Despite the absence of the banners for the remainder of the season, efforts are being made to restore them by next season. Concurrently, Disturbed is preparing for a new tour while expressing interest in new musical collaborations.
