The DCI reported that a raid was conducted on September 12, 2024, following a tip-off, revealing a potential drug manufacturing facility near Namanga. During the operation, two iron structures containing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and notes on meth production were discovered, alongside a mobile phone linked to a Mexican suspect.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of several suspects involved in the cartel’s operations. The first suspect, a Kenyan national, was apprehended on September 16, 2024, for overseeing the lab’s construction. Other arrests included a Nigerian accomplice and the mastermind at JKIA, who had connections to various international markets, including South America.

Additionally, a former investigator from the Mexican police, along with several Kenyans, was arrested, with their involvement indicating a significant international drug network spanning multiple countries. Ultimately, six individuals were charged in relation to the case, which highlighted the pervasive nature of drug trafficking across borders.
