Revolt Motors Expands Electric Motorcycle Exports to Nepal
Revolt Motors has begun exporting electric motorcycles to Nepal after entering Sri Lanka last year and plans expansion into three more countries within the next financial year. The company aims for an annual volume of 500 units in Nepal and plans for additional assembly plants in other regions while optimizing production at its existing Haryana facility.
Revolt Motors has commenced the export of its electric motorcycles to Nepal after establishing a presence in Sri Lanka in the previous year. The company aims to expand its reach to three additional countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and West Asia within the next financial year, as stated by a senior official.
In a strategic move, Revolt Motors plans to enter the Mexican market later and establish assembling plants in regions such as Africa and Mexico, according to Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises, the promoter of Revolt Motors. In Nepal, approximately 1.7 lakh two-wheelers were sold in 2024, with electric vehicle penetration currently under 4 percent, highlighting the potential market for electric motorcycles.
The electric motorcycles that will be exported consist of a complete product lineup including the RV400, RV400 BRZ, RV1, RV1+, and RV BlazeX, all supported by a robust after-sales service network. The company has partnered with the MV Dugar Group and plans to launch its first Revolt Hub in Kathmandu in April, with 15 additional showrooms set to open across major cities in the following months.
The growing emphasis on clean energy in Nepal presents a significant opportunity for electric motorcycles, especially given the country’s unique terrain that favors motorcycles as a preferred transport mode. Revolt Motors targets an annual volume of 500 units for its initial consignment to Nepal, which is scheduled for dispatch this week.
Regarding manufacturing capabilities, Rattan mentioned that the current plant in Manesar, Haryana, can produce approximately 180,000 units annually, sufficiently supporting the present output of around 35,000 units per year. In the domestic sector, Revolt Motors has reported a yearly sales increase of 58 percent, selling 760 units in February compared to 480 units during the same month last year. Looking toward the future, the company is exploring the establishment of new facilities in the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu or Karnataka within the next 18 months.
In conjunction with Revolt Motors, other electric two-wheeler manufacturers, including Ather, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motor, and Ultraviolet, are also exporting their products to neighboring countries, contributing to the growing adoption of electric mobility in the region.
Revolt Motors has successfully entered the Nepalese market, expanding its electric motorcycle export operations following its initial foray into Sri Lanka. The company aspires to leverage Nepal’s growing demand for sustainable mobility, launching its flagship hub and plans for further expansion within the region. As the electric vehicle market continues to develop, Revolt Motors is poised to capitalize on the increasing adoption of electric two-wheelers amidst a significant growth trajectory in production and sales.
