The Nigeria Police Force has extradited Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” from Qatar for the murder of Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. The Nigeria Police Force announced the extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” from Doha, Qatar, after being on the run for the murder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. The extradition occurred early on April 19, 2025, as stated by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer. Legal representatives from Femi Falana’s chambers played a crucial role in tracking the fugitive.

Nnayereugo had escaped to six different countries before being located in Qatar by the legal firm. His extradition followed a petition from the victim’s family submitted on September 29, 2024, which led INTERPOL NCB Abuja to launch an investigation. According to the police, Nnayereugo murdered Onuwabhagbe, a first-class student, at his residence in Lagos on July 13, 2023, before fleeing Nigeria and attempting to create a false narrative online regarding the murder.

After being declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force on October 13, 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued. Nnayereugo was initially arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, under a false identity but escaped custody during a prison break in November 2023. His subsequent evasion involved traveling through multiple regions using forged identities until he settled in Doha in January 2025.

His identity was confirmed through international cooperation and advanced biometrics, leading to his arrest by Qatari authorities in February 2025. An official extradition request was processed and approved by the Qatari judicial authorities, resulting in his return to Nigeria. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, acknowledged the cooperative efforts involving INTERPOL NCB Abuja, the Government of Qatar, and the Nigerian Embassy in Qatar, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in addressing trans-border crime.

The Inspector-General assured the public that the Nigeria Police Force is committed to ensuring Nnayereugo faces diligent prosecution for his alleged crimes, underscoring the focus on justice and public safety.
